It’s me. Bri. HOW ARE YOU!? I’m doing pretty darn great here in Halifax. The weather is yet again very close, and the salty smell of ocean is in the air! Truth be told it smells like a sulphuric fart, but anyone who lives on the sea TOTALLY gets it, accepts it, and misses it when they are away. Take a deep breath and massage your innards.
SO. Instagram is my favourite thing. in life. (I did however just download Pokemon Go, So we’ll see. talk to me when I catch em all) I am always on the ready and snapping pictures left right and fucking centre. thus, the amount of pictures that are edited, and NOT posted to Instagram because they don’t go with my “aesthetic” or it just doesn’t go with the flow of my feed are high in number. These are things you think about when you’re cray. I like the photo, but it will only sit in my camera roll or VSCO library and go to waste. I have decided to post the last 5 Instagrams that I didn’t post here. I plan on doing this type of post once a month. SO watch out.
I’m back. Can you believe it!? Thats right, believe it or not I have returned to the blogosphere. After a LONG ass break from blogging I’ve decided to get back into it, and stick to it.
As some of you kids may know I’ve been really into PINK lately. Obsessed. If you follow along on Instagram you will know that I painted my kitchen pink a few months back and it was truly disturbing. I quickly painted over it in Bunny Gray by Benjamin Moore. This time my pink obsession has been brought on by a man I follow on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/mustachelust/).
His name is Chad R
Has a pretty sweet moustache
a total dream boat
, and he also lives in a beautiful blush bedroom.
Okay, so im determined to not choose the wrong dollhouse pink this time. It’s gotta be blush. Blush Brian, Blush.
I have to say, I have zero patience and the fact that I’ve not gone to the paint store and chosen it out yet is TRULY a revelation. Seri.
Here are some of the blush tones I have chosen so far. Lemme know what you think.
It’s totally been a while hasn’t it? Sorry bout it.
Today my beautiful friend Nicholette and I decided it was best to make a delicious lunch and gab all the live long day. To be honest I did very little of the work, so I can’t take much credit. However, I did stand on her chairs and take birds eye view pictures. Thats gotta count for something!? amiright?
Over the years Nic and I have worked together I have heard mention on many occasions of an authentic caesar salad she makes. Now, caesar salad in my house growing up was always made from a boxed kit we got at the groc store complete with stale crutons. YUM… We thought it was high time I tasted and learned how to make an authentic Caesar! Here we go.
As I have mentioned before, us bloggers like to assume everyones an idiot and needs step by step instructions. I will now give you those instructions.
Salt & Pepper
Red Wine Vinegar
In a large bowl pour in about 2 or 3 plugs of olive oil. Swirl this around until your bowl is evenly covered.
Throw some salt and pepper in there gurl. Do it.
finely chop 2 or 3 cloves of garlic and throw it in. You could use a garlic press too, don’t worry.
Throw in about 1/2 cup of grated parm.
Take a cap full of red wine vinegar and pour it in.
Do that fancy thing with an egg where you crack it in half and then pass the yoke back and fourth eliminating the white part and all you have left is the yoke. You know what I mean. Separate the yoke yo.
place the yoke in with the rest of the ingredients.
Squeeze half a lemon in there too.
Take a whisk and well, whisk.
Take your Romaine lettuce, wash it off, rip it up into bite size bits and take it for a spin. You want to make sure your lettuce is as dry as possible so the mixture will stick.
Toss the lettuce in the bowl where you’ve been whisking and mix it all together. Toss the salad. With your hands.
Place your salad in a bowl and top with more parmesan cheese.
Seeing as it’s St Patricks Day, I thought I would throw something green together. I decided to head on over to “Oh She Glows” and try out this Green Warrior Protein Smoothie. I’m currently on a health kick, but don’t worry, I’m certain I’ll be back at the pizza tomorrow.
The first sip is a little bitter and shocking. Truth is, you’re not going to want to drink this. It even caused me to say “fuck you kale” aloud. However, once you get into it, it’s not so bad…
Lately my diet has been all over the place. One day I’m eating a full tub of Cherry Garcia Ben & Jerry’s in bed at 4 am with a friend, and the next I’m going “Goop” and eating shit Gwyneth Paltrow would be so proud of. Today, I woke up and felt like a Royal Highness of Health. I am choosing to share this moment instead of my Sweet Chilli Heat Dorito moment I had 2 nights ago.
Sometimes when blogging we like to treat the reader like an idiot. Some people can’t figure out how to make a bowl of yogurt and put berries and shit in it, okay.
Here we go.
For this recipe you’re going to need:
A small bowl (preferably one from a local pottery studio)
A small spoon that has your family crest engraved on it and has been handed down in your family(to eat with)
Plain Greek Yogurt (bio-cultures for the win)
Your favourite berries (fresh picked from your garden are best)(if not in season, get them from your greenhouse or go to the south of France to obtain)
Organic honey (Organic)
Bird seed (“Chia, Buckwheat & Hemp Cereal”)
An instagram account
Place several dollops of your Greek yogurt in your bowl. Dollop away until half of your bowl is filled. Then what your going to do, is gently plop your berries atop the yogurt. How beautiful does it look? I can personally picture it, and it’s breathtaking. Sprinkle your seed cereal mix on top (about 4 Tbs) and then finish it off with a drizzle of honey.
Enjoy your snack. It’s a good thing.

I’m sharing with you the process of my portfolio. I just finished a self portrait today and i figured you should see it. It makes me very nervous for you to see this, because it’s my first attempt at a self portrait with acrylic paint. I’m also uneasy about the finished product, sooo go easy on me? Or don’t! I need to hear as much criticism as possible.
It has been quite the process and yesterday I felt like giving up. Disappointment hit me when I stepped back and looked at what was there on my canvas. My heart sunk and I really thought about starting over. I was so involved and focused and putting all of my energy into creating this. When what I was picturing in my head wasn’t there I could of cried LOL, I’m especially emotional these days. Deal with it. I messaged one of my truest friends who happens to be one of the most talented artists I know. Her name is Bryanna, and you can check out her blog here!❤
She told me “the toughest thing is learning to accept that you are always going to be learning. To paint right past the stages that you find yourself in when you think the work is looking really bad. You just keep going and you’ll be so glad you did” I am so glad I took Bree’s advice and just kept painting!!! It’s a learning process!
I’ve decided to pursue my dreams and apply to art school. Lots to do and explore. Today I took some time in the morning to draw a little succulent who’s been living on my window sill. Putting my pencil to paper felt great!
